Purdys is Bringing Back their Dear Santa Christmas Campaign to Support Children’s Hospitals Across Canada

The Canadian Chocolatier brings back the Dear Santa Bar, with a portion of proceeds going towards supporting children's hospitals across Canada

VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--This holiday season, Purdys Chocolatier is bringing back their Dear Santa Christmas Campaign, an initiative that donates a portion of proceeds from their Dear Santa Bar to help local children’s hospitals across Canada provide the best care to patients and their families. $2 from every purchase of a Dear Santa Bar is donated to a partnering children's hospital.

The Dear Santa Bar is available in all Purdys shops across Canada and online. Every Dear Santa Bar purchased in-shop will support the local partnering Children's Hospital. On the website, customers will have the opportunity to select which hospital partner they'd like to support with their purchase: SickKids Foundation, BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation, Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation, Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation, Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba and the CHEO Foundation.

“This campaign is very near and dear to my heart as one of our hospital partners saved the life of my nephew when he was just 18 months old,'' says Rachel McKinley, Purdys Master Chocolatier. “It makes it even more special that I was able to create the recipe for the Dear Santa Bar that helps support our different hospital partners across Canada,” she adds. “This initiative has come full circle for my family as my nephew is now the poster child for the Dear Santa Christmas Campaign in Manitoba, where he was saved just a few years ago.”

This year, Purdys has a goal of raising $200,000 for their hospital partners. Purdys is also offering the following online exclusives that will also go towards supporting their hospital partners: Dear Santa Bar (12-pack), Dear Santa Gift Box and the Dear Santa Gift Basket.

“We’re passionate about supporting causes that are meaningful to our team and our customers, and that’s why we first began Dear Santa,” says Kriston Dean, VP Sales & Marketing. “We started the campaign in 2019 and raised $30,000 for one partnering children’s hospital. Now, we’re proud to say we’ve raised over $190,000 for children’s hospitals across Canada with the support of our Purdys community. It’s our joy to support our 7 children’s hospital partners, and help make the holidays a little brighter for kids and their families.”

Along with the Dear Santa Bar, Purdys 2021 Christmas line includes other classic bestsellers during the holiday season. The Winter Village Hanging Advent Calendar has a DIY component, allowing customers to add their own special touch. ​​Customers can display it on a table, string it as a garland, or hang each one on the tree as a tasty decoration. Purdys is also offering their Vegan Advent Calendar, a delicious and sustainable option, with individually wrapped pieces of decadent vegan dark chocolate. As well, Purdys is bringing back one of their Christmas classics, Peppermint Bark, featuring creamy white chocolate, loaded with crunchy candy cane bits and topped with the perfect drizzle of dark chocolate.
