CMTC Helps LED Lighting Array Manufacturer Increase Sales with Customized Marketing Program

TORRANCE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--California Manufacturing Technology Consulting® (CMTC) recently engaged with Tail Lights Inc. to help the company increase its sales through a customized marketing program.

Established in 2012, Tail Lights Inc. is the world’s only manufacturer of LED lighting arrays that are designed to be mounted to the tails of horses to enhance visibility and safety not only for the horses and riders, but for motor vehicles that are sharing the road with them. The Tail Lights product was conceived as a result of owner Sami Gros and her horse being hit by a motor vehicle—after the accident, Sami realized that there was a need for this safety product. Today, Tail Light units are sold worldwide to mounted police and patrol units as well as to recreational equestrians.

A Physician’s Assistant by education and training, Sami has funded her company and the development of its products on her own. Not only is she the owner, but she wears all of the “hats” associated with a manufacturing company. When CMTC was introduced to Tail Lights in April of 2020, Sami was developing the company’s 3rd generation of products and needed help to reach the next level of sales.

CMTC identified several consultants to assist in making three critical changes: 1) the Tail Lights website was completely redesigned – content was updated, navigation was streamlined, and eCommerce was accommodated; 2) search engine optimization was implemented; and 3) a social media campaign was initiated to create a network of influencers.

As a result, Tail Lights experienced a 65% increase in website traffic which helped generate a sales increase of 47.8% within a year of the project’s completion. After the project concluded, CMTC also followed up with a lead generation campaign which improved customer awareness and found an alternate supplier of critical components.

Tail Lights’ Owner Sami Gros says of the experience, “Working with CMTC has been a godsend. They have provided me with assistance that I couldn’t have done on my own. Invaluable! Assistance and support when I needed it most.”
