Deque Systems Opens Call for Speakers and Registration for Axe-con 2022

HERNDON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Deque Systems, the trusted leader in digital accessibility, announced today that the call for speakers and free registration for its second annual axe-con conference are now open. The free virtual event will take place on March 15-17, 2022.

Axe-con is a three-day, multi-track, open and inclusive digital accessibility conference that welcomes developers, designers, business users, and accessibility professionals of all experience levels to a unique gathering focused on building, testing, and maintaining accessible digital experiences. The inaugural axe-con in 2021 was the largest assembly of accessibility professionals ever, hosting a global audience with over 17,000 people registered representing more than 7,600 organizations, and featuring over 100 expert speakers.

Deque is also excited to announce entrepreneur and bestselling author Seth Godin, founding member of the Disabled List Liz Jackson, and Deque Founder and CEO Preety Kumar as the first three headline speakers at axe-con 2022. More speakers will be announced in the coming months, but in the meantime, Deque is looking for other experts to share their stories about development, UX, accessibility strategy, and anything else unique to digital accessibility.

If you would like to be considered as a speaker for axe-con 2022, you can submit to the call for papers here. The deadline to submit a speaker application is 5:00PM PT on Friday, October 29th, 2021, and Deque will notify speakers about the status of their submission by November 29th, 2021.

Deque strongly encourages BIPOC presenters to submit talks, as the diversity of speakers and topics will not only make axe-con better, but allows for important perspectives and ideas about building more accessible experiences for everyone to be heard more broadly. All axe-con talks will be in the Eastern Time Zone, but international speakers are also welcome to submit. Additionally, all talks will have live captions, ASL and an accessible live-streaming web experience.
