New Ballet School Director Appointed
Jorge Laico has been named Director of The School of Sacramento Ballet. Laico’s 18-year professional dance career has taken him to national stages from Atlanta to Oakland. He has taught at Rock School of Pennsylvania Ballet, North Carolina School of the Arts, Escuela Municipal del Teatro (Spain) & even Cirque du Soleil.
“School of Sacramento Ballet is for everyone in our community. I am excited to bring expansive ideas to support the organization’s wide open theme,” said Mr. Laico. “We are augmenting our conservatory approach with new hip hop, contemporary dance & musical theater programs. Beyond basic athleticism, students learn critical thinking, problem solving, music appreciation, etiquette & manners. We provide excellent training, direction & a pathway for student dancers to become professionals.“
