Banks to Present Career Gear of Greater Houston with $16K Grant

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Veritex Community Bank and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas) will award $16,000 in Partnership Grant Program (PGP) funds to Career Gear of Greater Houston during a ceremonial check presentation August 9.

Career Gear of Greater Houston is a nonprofit that works to encourage the economic independence of underserved men and male youths. Its services include financial literacy training, career development and life skills.

The media is encouraged to join local dignitaries and bank representatives for the check presentation at 3:00 p.m. August 9 at Career Gear of Greater Houston, 750 Sharpstown Center, in Houston, Texas.

The structure of the PGP enables FHLB Dallas member institutions like Veritex Community Bank to contribute $500 to $4,000 to a community-based organization, which FHLB Dallas matches at a 3:1 ratio.
