NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nardello & Co. LLC, a leading global investigations firm, today announced that Barry Irwin has joined its London office as Regional Head of the firm’s Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) practice. Mr. Irwin’s predecessor, Martin Stone, remains a Partner and Senior Managing Director at the firm and will work closely with Mr. Irwin in the region, focusing on Nardello & Co.’s Middle East practice.
Mr. Irwin brings more than 30 years of legal experience across 40 countries as both in-house counsel and in private practice. Most recently, Mr. Irwin spent more than ten years with the international law firm Allen & Overy LLP, as a senior Partner based in Singapore where he focused on cross-border mergers and acquisitions. He supported a broad range of clients, from large multinationals to start-ups as well as governments and state-owned enterprises. He began his career as in-house counsel to the Exxon Group affiliate EAL and also served as in-house counsel to Westfield Corporation, then a property and media company, before building a successful private practice in the energy and resources sector.

Biography
Barry Irwin
Barry Irwin has more than 30 years of legal expertise both as in-house counsel and in private practice, working with multinational corporations, government, state-owned enterprises, startups, and individuals. Prior to joining Nardello & Co., he was a senior Partner with international law firm Allen & Overy LLP for more than a decade. Based primarily in Singapore, Mr. Irwin practiced as a corporate and commercial lawyer with a focus on significant cross-border mergers and acquisitions for clients and projects based in more than 40 countries around the world.
Mr. Irwin started his career as in-house counsel to the Exxon Group affiliate EAL, providing legal services first to the Production Department and offshore operations in Bass Strait and then to the downstream business. He then spent several years as in-house counsel to Westfield Corporation, a property and media company active in the US, the UK, and Australia. Following that, Mr. Irwin moved into private practice, working in both Australian and international firms as a leading advisor in the energy and resources sector.
He is the author of Long Term Contracts (Federation Press Pty. Limited) on the practical, commercial, and legal operation and effect of long-term supply agreements, as well as a contributing author to both the World Bank Institute's Guide to Key Documentation and Governance for Extractive Industries, a guide for government bodies, private investors and other stakeholders in large resources projects, and Minerals and Mining (Globe Law and Business Publishing), on mining laws around the world.
Mr. Irwin is a graduate of the Australian National University Law School, and has received a bachelor’s degree from ANU in philosophy and psychology. He is admitted to practice in England, Wales, and the High Court of Australia, as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW, and as a Barrister and Solicitor in the Supreme Court of Victoria.
