Lubrizol Employees Support Neighbors and Local Communities through Volunteerism and Contributions in the Second Quarter

CLEVELAND--()--Throughout the months of April, May and June, Lubrizol employees provided impactful donations and contributed more than 1,700 virtual and in-person volunteer hours to support our neighbors and our local communities.

“The Lubrizol Foundation’s community investment strategy, Global Goals/Local Actions, is an engine to achieve Lubrizol’s goal of improving 2 billion lives by the company’s centennial in 2028,” Elizabeth Grove, Lubrizol Foundation President said. “Through Global Goals/Local Actions, Lubrizol established a global target for our employees to collectively give 80,000 volunteer hours to local communities by 2028. We are so excited to share that employees have contributed over 2,100 volunteer hours this year.”

Social responsibility is a key pillar of Lubrizol’s sustainability. As our sustainability strategy matures and aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), our Foundation will be an engine to achieve those goals in our local communities.

2021 SECOND QUARTER IMPACT

UN SDGs 13, 14 and 15: Climate Action, Life Under Water and Life on Land:

  • RiverSweep - As part of our increased commitment to supporting environmentally minded causes, Northeast Ohio employees worked with the CanalWay Partners to help clean up future trails and parks in the Greater Cleveland Area. In over 30 years, around 20,000 volunteers have helped to extract and recycle almost 25,000 illegally discarded tires and picked up for disposal 713 tons of trash at 20 different locations throughout Northeast Ohio.

  • Deepening Commitment to Environmental Stewardship on Earth Day - Lubrizol continues to take action to further its environmental stewardship, including donations to The Nature Conservancy and Cleveland Metroparks. On Earth Day, Lubrizol pledged greater reductions in the company’s environmental footprint, with new goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and waste across its global manufacturing sites. The company also plans to align more of its corporate giving with environmental causes, including recently announced commitments.

UN SDG 3: Good Health and Wellbeing:

  • Harvest for Hunger Campaign - Northeast Ohio employees and the Lubrizol Foundation raised more than $27,000 to support the Harvest for Hunger Fundraising Campaign, benefiting the Greater Cleveland Foodbank. The money raised will provide more than 108,000 nutritious meals to support local residents.
