AM Best Registered as a Rating Agency in Guatemala

MEXICO CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AM Best is pleased to announce that its Mexico City-based subsidiary, A.M. Best América Latina, S.A. de C.V., has received from the Superintendency of Banks of Guatemala acceptance in the country’s registry of risk-rating companies.

The completion of this process on July 16, 2021, reinforces AM Best’s growing Central American presence and commitment to Guatemala’s insurance market. AM Best currently rates several of the leading insurance companies in Guatemala’s market, and has been rating insurers in the Latin American region since 1999 with an significantly increased market presence in recent years.

With the Superintendency of Banks registration, Carlos De la Torre, senior director, business development and operations, AM Best América Latina, said AM Best looks forward to continue serving current and future clients much more closely.
