BigTime Software Welcomes Derek Slayton as Chief Operating Officer

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BigTime Software, a premier provider of cloud-based software for professional services firms, today announced that veteran marketing and sales executive Derek Slayton has joined the company as Chief Operating Officer.

In his new role, Slayton will oversee BigTime’s go-to-market and growth strategy, helping to build on a community of over 2,000 professional service customers who use BigTime as their operational platform to improve time and expense management, project and team planning, and invoicing and payments.

“Derek is a seasoned and trusted leader who has a proven track record of driving operational excellence,” said Brian Saunders, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of BigTime Software. “We’re deeply excited about the recent momentum BigTime has seen, and we believe that Derek is uniquely qualified to lead the company through our next phase of growth driven by expanding our strategic partnerships and accelerating market adoption.”

In this new role, Slayton brings over two decades of experience leading marketing and product teams, channel management, and large-scale operations within SaaS and data companies. Previously, Slayton served as Chief Marketing Officer and EVP of Market Strategy at Terminus, where he led go-to-market and business development teams for the company. Prior to Terminus, Slayton was GM of the Sales & Marketing Line of Business at Dun & Bradstreet where he led sales, product and marketing functions for the $750M operating unit.

Prior to Terminus, Slayton held senior leadership positions at a variety of equity funded, high-growth software companies, including NetProspex (acquired by Dun & Bradstreet), Turbonomic (acquired by IBM) and Reflectent Software (acquired by Citrix Systems).
