Planet Hosts Top Policy and Business Leaders for Panel Discussion on Climate Action

SAN FRANCISCO--()--Planet, a leading provider of daily data and insights about Earth, today hosted top scientists, government officials, and business leaders for an insightful conversation on climate change and how technology can help solve the complex issues posed by this critical global issue. The conversation replay is available on Planet’s YouTube channel. Earlier this month, Planet entered into a definitive merger agreement with dMY Technology Group, Inc. IV (NYSE:DMYQ), a special purpose acquisition company, to become a publicly-traded company.

Moderated by Trish Wilson, climate and environment editor at the Washington Post, the Planet-hosted panel convened industry and business leaders including Marc Benioff, Chair, CEO and Founder of Salesforce; Sundar Pichar, CEO of Alphabet and Google; Alok Shama, President of COP26 and member of the UK Cabinet; Katherine Hayhoe, Chief Scientist at The Nature Conservancy; and Will Marshall, CEO of Planet, for an in-depth conversation regarding the future of climate change. The discussion touched on current public attitudes towards climate change, whether or not growing awareness will allow for more effective action, and how business leaders can best drive progress.

“Planet’s mission is deeply tied to sustainable development and we are committed to partnering with leaders across various industries to support creative climate solutions,” said Will Marshall, CEO of Planet. “We are pleased to be able to convene some of the top minds working to implement ways to combat climate change as business leaders are not only well-positioned to drive progress, but also share a responsibility to innovate where we can. I’m hopeful that we can move this important conversation while measuring progress on sustainability goals and creating far-rippling changes that have positive impacts on our planet.”
