Arctaris Announces Hiring of Alan Halfenger, formerly of Bain Capital, as General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Arctaris Impact Investors, LLC (“Arctaris”) and its affiliate management companies announce the addition of Alan Halfenger as General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer. Mr. Halfenger brings nearly three decades of legal and compliance experience where he served as Global Chief Compliance Officer at Bain Capital, LP, and in leadership roles at both ACA Compliance and Treliant.

Prior to joining Arctaris, Mr. Halfenger served as the Global Chief Compliance Officer at Bain Capital, one of the world's leading multi-asset alternative investment firms, for 10 years. In this role, he was responsible for the development of the global compliance, risk and control functions for the private equity, venture, credit, impact and hedge fund affiliates. Mr. Halfenger was also a Consulting Partner and Practice Leader focused on the compliance, risk and infrastructure needs of private funds managers.

Previously, he served in legal and compliance roles at JP Morgan where he focused on securities, derivatives and investment management activities. Mr. Halfenger has held legal and compliance positions in several other asset managers and broker dealers and earlier in his career, he worked as a regulatory consultant for Price Waterhouse.

Mr. Halfenger holds the Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist Certification and multiple securities licenses. He is a graduate of the New York University Stern School of Business and the Syracuse University College of Law. He has served on non-profit and academic boards, including the Syracuse College of Law Advisory Board, the Bottom Line and the Boston Debate League.
