Michelle O’Connor Named MEDITECH President and CEO

WESTWOOD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MEDITECH announced that Michelle O’Connor has been appointed as the organization’s President and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to this role, O’Connor served as President and Chief Operating Officer. She takes over for Howard Messing, who is now Vice Chairman on the company’s Board of Directors.

O’Connor joined the EHR vendor in 1988 as an implementation programmer. She soon transitioned to a management role spearheading process changes and technical support procedures. She also played a key role in modernizing legacy applications, overseeing physician product development, and moving to an agile development platform.

Throughout the years, O’Connor has leveraged her development experience to understand and address complex healthcare IT challenges, even those as monumental as adapting technologies and services to assist customers throughout the recent pandemic. “This has been a very difficult time for our healthcare partners and it’s been our privilege to support them by every means possible.
