Convoy Adds AWS Vice President Dorothy Li to its Leadership Team as Chief Technology Officer

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Convoy, the nation’s most efficient digital freight network, today announced that Dorothy Li has been appointed Chief Technology Officer (CTO), effective June 28, 2021. As CTO, Li will oversee Convoy’s engineering teams and technology strategy, shaping and scaling the company’s innovation and industry-defining technology platforms. Li will report directly to Convoy CEO Dan Lewis. Convoy Co-founder Grant Goodale, who served as the company’s previous CTO, will move into a new role overseeing Convoy’s carrier marketplace.

Prior to Convoy, Li held several leadership roles at Amazon, and most recently served as Vice President of BI and Analytics at Amazon Web Services (AWS). During her 23 years at Amazon, Li helped build out Amazon’s ecommerce platform and also led and collaborated on products that visibly impacted customers around the world – from the initial launch of Amazon Prime, to Kindle, to AWS Cloud.

“Dorothy is a true innovator and has created and scaled products used by millions of people and thousands of businesses, and I couldn’t be more excited for her to join Convoy,” said Dan Lewis, CEO of Convoy. “Dorothy’s natural curiosity, passion and thoughtful approach to engineering and business will be an excellent match with Convoy’s culture. I look forward to partnering with Dorothy to scale our engineering program as we continue to accelerate Convoy’s growth at this transformative moment for the $800 billion US freight industry.”

"Convoy is attacking one of the hardest problems in the world, bringing digital transformation to the extremely fragmented trucking industry and bringing new levels of efficiency to eliminating carbon waste for our planet. That requires innovation, extraordinary execution and a high performing engineering culture that embraces disruption on behalf of the customer," said Dorothy Li, Convoy CTO. "I am delighted to be joining Convoy on this big and bold mission. It is definitely ‘Day One’ in the new era of digital transformation for the freight industry. I can't wait to get started."
