Springboard Appoints President, Consumer Business and Chief Financial Officer to Executive Team

Andrew Moers and Ryan Fong Join to Bring Business and Financial Leadership and Growth Expertise to Online Learning Leader

SAN FRANCISCO--()--Springboard, an online learning platform preparing students from all walks of life for in-demand careers through comprehensive, mentor-led programs, announces today the appointment of Andrew Moers as President, Consumer Business and Ryan Fong as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to its executive team. Moers and Fong join Springboard as the company prepares for continued expansion, following a year that elevated the importance of digital skills and online learning.

As President, Consumer Business, Moers brings over 20 years of executive leadership experience to Springboard, having driven rapid growth and business expansion throughout his career. Moers spent a decade as President of a several-hundred million dollar business unit at digital conglomerate IAC, and subsequently served in business unit management, CMO and strategic growth roles at Talkspace and Blue Apron, two pioneering direct-to-consumer digital brands. In his role as CFO, Fong brings nearly two decades of experience as a strategist, operator and finance leader, across a diverse range of organizations and Ed Tech companies, including Yahoo!, Microsoft and Udacity.

“I’m thrilled to join Springboard in its mission to bridge the world’s skills gap, and I look forward to working alongside its talented team to accelerate the business and transform lives through Springboard’s unique, human-guided online learning programs,” Moers said. “Springboard has already established itself as a leader in the online learning space, and the company is uniquely positioned to succeed in the current landscape,” Fong added. “I look forward to applying my knowledge and experience to scale financial growth for the company.”

Springboard saw over 200% year-over-year growth in enrollments in 2020, cementing its category leadership and the significant value of its programs. The stellar backgrounds and extensive experience of both Fong and Moers will help to enable continued rapid expansion and growth of the core Springboard business, while scaling its operational and financial infrastructure and enabling the company to invest towards future growth.

“We’ve established an incredibly ambitious vision centered around transforming lives, and we’re confident that both Andrew and Ryan will bring us one step closer to achieving that goal,” noted Nichole Pitzen, VP of People at Springboard. “They both bring seasoned leadership expertise that will prove valuable as we continue to turn our aspirations into true impact for our students.”

The new appointments to Springboard’s leadership team follow continued momentum for the brand leading into the second half of the year, as it works to expand partnerships and impact in scale. Earlier this year, Springboard joined the Microsoft Accelerate program as a national partner, focused on tackling unemployment and the digital skills divide in metropolitan areas by providing technology skills development opportunities for underserved communities. Springboard is currently accepting enrollments into the program in Atlanta, Houston, and New York regions. Additionally, Springboard just recently announced a partnership with University of South Florida (USF), powering three new digital skills bootcamps through USF Innovative Education’s Corporate Training and Professional Education division. This outcomes-focused program is the first of its kind offering multiple course tracks, enabling USF to deliver a full portfolio of offerings across UI/UX Design, Cybersecurity and Software Engineering, further showcasing Springboard’s full spectrum education solution.
