Intellego Capital Partners Strengthens Management Team with Strategic Hires

Adds Ben Hatz as EVP, Acquisitions; Kari L. Doescher as CFO; and Alexander Kotlyarevsky as SVP, Strategy, Finance & Analytics

NORWALK, Conn.--()--Intellego Capital Partners, LLC, a privately held multifamily investment management platform, today announced that it has strengthened its leadership team with three strategic hires. The experienced real estate executives joining Intellego are Ben Hatz, Executive Vice President, Acquisitions; Kari L. Doescher, Chief Finance Officer; and Alexander Kotlyarevsky, Senior Vice President, Strategy, Finance & Analytics.

Over the course of their distinguished careers, Hatz, Doescher and Kotlyarevsky have worked closely with Intellego’s founders – Edward Lange, Darin Buchalter and Stewart Whitman – across multiple platforms serving billions of dollars of assets. They bring to Intellego deep subject matter expertise and skillsets that are key to advancing the firm’s strategy to acquire, reposition and manage apartment communities in the high-growth Southwest and Southeast regions of the U.S.

“We could not be more excited to once again partner with people we trust to build and scale a business that prioritizes residents, investors and employees,” said Lange. “With the addition of Ben, Kari and Alex, we have assembled a best-in-class management team with complementary skillsets and a reputation for value creation. They have already hit the ground running, and we have full confidence in their abilities to help us achieve our near and long-term business goals.”

These talented professionals fill key positions of Intellego’s senior management, helping to assure the firm’s stakeholders that the quality of communication and accountability for execution of their interests will meet the highest standards. Having closely collaborated with Intellego’s founders over many years, Hatz, Doescher and Kotlyarevsky are intimately familiar with the firm’s vision, culture of excellence and value creation activities.

Hatz commented, “Kari, Alex and I all felt confident about our decisions to join Intellego after reviewing the business plan, studying the market fundamentals and considering the opportunity to work closely with friends we greatly respect. We are completely aligned on what we intend to accomplish together, and are committed to leveraging our collective knowledge and relationships to achieve enduring success.”

Hatz joins Intellego from MAXX Properties, where he served as Senior Vice President, Acquisitions and worked closely with Lange as a member of the company’s executive management team. Prior to joining MAXX Properties, Hatz held senior roles at public and private companies including Healthcare Trust (NASDAQ: HCT), ProMed Properties and Citi Property Investors, the private equity arm of Citigroup.

Doescher joins Intellego from Ankura Consulting Group and Navigant Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: NCI), where she worked closely with Buchalter. Prior to that, Doescher served as Chief Financial Officer at JER Investors Trust (NYSE: JRT), where she managed the company’s 144A equity placement and subsequent IPO.

Kotlyarevsky joins Intellego from MAXX Properties where he also worked closely with Lange as Vice President, Finance. Throughout his 20-plus year career, he has served public and private companies in key finance roles providing oversight for financial infrastructure, business intelligence, budget and forecasting, among others. He also overlapped with Lange and Hatz at Healthcare Trust (NASDAQ: HCT), where he served as Vice President, Finance.
