ERI’s John Shegerian Calls ESG ‘the Greatest Investment Trend of Our Generation’

Shegerian Applauds and Concurs with Citi’s Projections in CNBC Interview

FRESNO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Citing a recent CNBC interview featuring commentary and projections by Ken Peng, head of investment strategy for Asia-Pacific at Citi Private Bank and David Bailin, chief investment officer at Citi Global Wealth, John Shegerian, co-founder and executive chairman of ERI, the nation’s leading fully integrated IT and electronics asset disposition provider and cybersecurity-focused hardware destruction company, has underscored the point that sustainable companies are the hottest investment opportunities available today and has claimed that investments known as environmental, social and governance (ESG) investing, are the “most significant investment trend and business growth stimulator of our generation.”

In the recent CNBC article by Weizhen Tan, titled “From Green Energy to Cybersecurity, Citi names ‘Unstoppable Trends’ that Investors can Jump on,” Citi’s Bailin said that over the next five to 10 years, investors — especially younger ones — will place an “enormous emphasis” on sustainable and responsible investing, and not just focus on profits. Bailin also noted that “the ability for companies to deal with cybersecurity risks is actually also part of the whole ESG discussion.”

“From working with many of the world’s largest brands, who turn to us to help them achieve their sustainability and cybersecurity/data destruction goals, we know that these issues are the two areas receiving laser focus across all industries,” said Shegerian. “For those organizations that innovate and provide solutions in these areas, the sky is truly the limit. And as our friends at Citi explained to CNBC, the two areas have intersected and cybersecurity is now very much a part of the ESG discussion, so companies that are tackling both issues are in particular demand right now on the investment front. It’s an exciting time for ERI and other organizations that come up with unique ways to answer the ESG call.”

ERI is the largest fully integrated IT and electronics asset disposition provider and cybersecurity-focused hardware destruction company in the United States. ERI is certified at the highest level by all leading environmental and data security oversight organizations to de-manufacture, recycle, and refurbish every type of electronic device in an environmentally responsible manner.
