Vantage Data Centers Opens Second Data Center on Expanding 146MW Northern Virginia Mega Campus

16MW of IT capacity now available for hyperscalers, cloud providers and large enterprises

DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Vantage Data Centers, a leading global provider of hyperscale data center campuses, today announced the completion of phase one of VA12, the second of five planned facilities at its Northern Virginia campus located in the heart of “Data Center Alley.” The initial phase of VA12 provides hyperscalers, cloud providers and large enterprises with 16MW of critical IT capacity. Upon completion, VA12 will consist of 32MW and more than 250,000 square feet.

According to Cushman & Wakefield’s 2021 Data Center Global Market Comparison Report, the Northern Virginia market continues to hold the top global position in overall rankings for the year due to its size, fiber, cost of power and tax incentives.

“This past year, Vantage quickly ramped up our construction schedule to meet the skyrocketing demand for capacity in Northern Virginia,” said Jeff Tench, the newly named president of North America, Vantage Data Centers. “The first phase of VA12 was brought online in just 10 months, which is a testament to our team and our strategic approach to design and construction for accelerating time to market for our customers.”

VA12 customers can expect the same best-in-class services, commitment to operational excellence and sustainable design features reflected in Vantage’s award-winning VA11 30MW facility. The campus features solar and wind energy sources onsite, the first of its kind in Northern Virginia, as well as industry-leading power usage effectiveness (PUE) and water usage effectiveness (WUE).
