Jeff Le Joins Rhino as VP of Public Policy and External Affairs

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, Rhino announces that Jeff Le will join their senior leadership team as its VP of Public Policy and External Affairs.

Jeff Le joins Rhino as the Renter’s Choice movement gains momentum nationwide, passing in Cincinnati, Atlanta, and, most recently, Baltimore, and city and state legislators recognize the need for security deposit alternatives during COVID-19 recovery.

As the former Deputy Cabinet Secretary to former California Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr., Jeff garnered bipartisan support for $4.4 billion in supplemental wildfire funding for California’s historic climate disasters and helped secure a $1 billion veterans housing bond for the state’s 1.6 million veterans. He also negotiated between parties for the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 to protect consumer data and hardened the state’s cybersecurity footprint.

Jeff comes to Rhino from VMware, a computer software company, where he oversaw the company’s state level work across 50 states as the U.S. State and Local Public Policy Lead. On behalf of VMware, he successfully defeated anti-LGBTI and anti-inclusionary legislation in seven states, and led the company’s coalition building for the passage of Georgia’s first hate crime law. He also spearheaded bipartisan cybersecurity and privacy legislative language across multiple states and helped establish VMware as a technology thought leader in the state of California as a leading voice on the California Blockchain Working Group.

“All I can think about is working-class families who are asking themselves what their housing situation is going to look like when eviction moratoriums are lifted after the pandemic. American families in this time of hardship are looking for common-sense solutions that work for them,” said Mr. Le. “What Rhino offers is an understandable alternative at a time where our most economically disrupted and vulnerable communities need freedom of choice more than ever.”

“As the Renter’s Choice movement grows, it’s crucial that we have Jeff’s expertise,” said Paraag Sarva, CEO of Rhino. “With his guidance, Rhino can continue to effectively advocate for win-win solutions to increase the access and affordability of housing for the 110 million renters nationwide, and make security deposit alternatives more available to those who need it most.”

About Rhino

Rhino was founded to give renters everywhere greater financial freedom to plan and enjoy their lives. We eliminate the need for traditional security deposits by replacing them with smart, affordable insurance so renters can maintain control of their cash. Instead of a large upfront cash security deposit, renters pay Rhino a small monthly fee, and Rhino insures the property owner for damages that might occur and lost rent. To date, we are offered in over 1 million homes, and we have saved renters over $300 million in cash.
