SS8 Announces Formation of Advisory Council and New Board Member

Council Creation to Further Strengthen SS8’s Industry Leading Products

MILPITAS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SS8 Networks, a leader in Lawful Intelligence with Lawful Intercept and Monitoring Center platforms, is pleased to announce its new Corporate Advisory Council and the addition of a new Board of Directors’ member.

The advisory council is an expansion of SS8’s strategy to make our society safer by providing advanced technology capability to Law Enforcement Agencies and Intelligence Agencies. The council will add market and executive perspectives with insight into the unique needs of the global Lawful Intelligence market. Led by SS8’s CEO Dr. Keith Bhatia, the council comprises experienced leaders from both the public and private sectors who are strongly motivated to help law enforcement and intelligence agencies achieve their goals and mission.

The new members of SS8’s Advisory Council include:

Dr. Pieter Poll – Both a new Board member and Advisory Council member, Dr. Poll is a former SVP of CenturyLink and CTO of Qwest. He has 35 years of experience in senior technical, engineering, and executive management roles with CenturyLink, Qwest, US WEST, and AT&T. In these roles, Dr. Poll was responsible for the strategic planning and execution of network integration using next-generation transport, switching, broadband, and network intelligence technologies. He led international operations organizations and provided technological expertise to M&A activities.

Dr. Eric Burger – New Advisory Council member, Dr. Burger was previously the Assistant Director for the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy responsible for the United States policy for telecommunications and cybersecurity portfolios. In this role he reported to the US CTO in the Executive Office of the President. Before that, Dr. Burger was the CTO for the FCC, serving as an advisor to the Chairman and as the senior technology expert in the agency. Other positions include Chairman of the Board for atfCYBER, Advisory Board member for Dexrex LLC, Board Member for Ascension Technology Group and CTO at Neustar. He is currently a Research Professor of Computer Science at Georgetown University.

Mr. Kevin Metcalf – Also a new Advisory Council member, Mr. Metcalf was a former federal agent turned prosecutor and is the founder of the National Child Protection Task Force (NCPTF). The NCPTF brings together recognized experts in legal strategy, OSINT, cellular mapping and analysis, dark web investigations, and cryptocurrency to aid law enforcement agencies everywhere. His law enforcement experience ranges from local to federal, and spans over 20 years.
