FMG Leading CEO Adds Expertise to PEI’s Inaugural Operating Partners Human Capital Forum

Dr. Matt Brubaker will lead a virtual discussion on the importance of pre-transaction human capital due diligence.

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Human capital advisory firm FMG Leading has announced its CEO Dr. Matt Brubaker will serve as a highlighted speaker and moderator at Private Equity International’s inaugural Operating Partners Human Capital Forum. The event will bring together key players in the private equity community to discuss how human capital-specific strategies and approaches can transform operations, accelerate growth, and drive value creation. It takes place virtually on May 13, 2021.

Dr. Brubaker will lead a 1:40PM ET breakout session titled, “Human Capital Due Diligence – the Missing Ingredient in Pre-Transaction Playbooks.” The panel discussion will focus on such topics as:

  • Understanding the COVID-accelerated trend of more rigorous human capital due diligence, and what the future holds
  • Measuring the people impact in each deal – how human capital dynamics influence valuation
  • How leadership/team quality can derail value creation efforts, and how to identify and mitigate those risks
  • Drawbacks of traditional leadership assessments versus next generation approaches that support context-driven individual and team success

Participating in the breakout sessions are leaders from private equity firms at the forefront of human capital due diligence, including:

  • Frazier Healthcare Partners
  • LightBay Capital
  • Windrose Health Investors

Dr. Brubaker notes that while diligence around human capital dimensions of a transaction can be extremely effective in helping evaluate and manage people issues inherent in pre-close environments, the work must be performed with intention, rigor and finesse. And to be most effective, certain elements of human capital strategy, such as effective onboarding, should continue post-close during the early stages of an investment’s life cycle.
