Life Science Executives Overwhelmingly Agree That Increased Gender Representation Positively Impacts Organizations

Yet, only 44 Percent of Life Science Commercial Executives Agree that Their Companies’ Boards/Executive Teams Mirror the Gender Diversity of Their Employees, According to Findings from a New Brief from Trinity Life Sciences

Trinity Life Sciences Will Present a Webinar entitled “Who Benefits Most from Gender Equity in Commercial Executive Roles?” April 6 at 1 p.m. ET

WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Trinity Life Sciences, a leader in global life science commercialization solutions, is sharing findings from its latest TGaS study entitled “Commercial Executive Pipeline Development for Women in Life Sciences.” The study finds that life science executives overwhelmingly agree that increased gender representation positively impacts organizations; however, life science companies fall below benchmark as compared to gender equity best practices in other industries. Only 44 percent of life science respondents agree that their companies’ boards/executive teams mirror the gender diversity of their employees.

“Commercial leaders can integrate gender representation initiatives with talent identification and succession planning strategies,” said Kristin Scott, Executive Director, Learning & Development, TGaS Advisors, a division of Trinity Life Sciences. “Early identification of high potential across commercial functions (and broader) can build a strong talent pipeline or bench. Having a formal succession planning process, requiring a diverse succession planning slate, and auditing succession planning processes for bias allows for early targeting of strong leaders.”

Ms. Scott will be joined by a guest, Amy Macchietto, Senior Director, Field Force Effectiveness, EMD Serono, to present findings from the study.

WEBINAR TOPIC: “Who Benefits Most from Gender Equity in Commercial Executive Roles?”

DATE & TIME: April 6, 1 p.m. E.T.

The webinar will explore the questions:

  • What drives and motivates companies to increase gender diversity in VP/SVP commercial roles?
  • How do companies demonstrate commitment and belief in gender-equity?
  • What capabilities do companies possess to enable women to lead and improve company performance?
  • What specific actions should companies take to build the executive pipeline for women?
  • What specific competencies and skills do women in commercial life science executive roles possess (both in/ex industry)?

“The study suggests that even companies with some gender equity programming do not have full organizational commitment and integration which leads to the loss of women identified as the highest potential leaders,” continued Ms. Scott. “Life science companies need to do better if they want to retain talented future leaders.”
