Prominent Litigation Partner Daniel Rubinstein Joins Sidley in Chicago

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sidley Austin LLP is pleased to announce that Daniel Rubinstein has joined the firm as a partner in its Chicago office. Mr. Rubinstein will be global co-leader of the White Collar: Government Litigation and Investigations practice. He joins Sidley from Winston & Strawn where he was the chair of the Chicago Litigation practice.

Recognized as one of the top lawyers in commercial litigation and white-collar defense, and a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, Mr. Rubinstein has tried more than 20 jury trials to verdict, numerous bench trials, and contested evidentiary hearings in state and federal court. His nationwide practice focuses on complex litigation, white-collar criminal matters, regulatory matters, and corporate internal investigations. Mr. Rubinstein has successfully resolved a broad range of matters that have involved theft of trade secrets, violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and other anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws. He frequently defends clients in regulatory investigations brought by the Department of Justice, Securities and Exchange Commission, Environmental Protection Agency, and other regulators.

“When the opportunity to bring a lawyer of Dan’s stature over to Sidley presented itself, we quickly moved to make it happen,” said Yvette Ostolaza, co-leader of Sidley’s global Litigation group. “His national reputation will complement our highly experienced team of trial lawyers that have an extensive track record across the full spectrum of corporate compliance, defense, and enforcement matters.”

Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Rubinstein was an assistant district attorney in Oakland, CA and an assistant United States attorney in both Los Angeles and Chicago.
