Tricentis Extends Public Sector Program and Executive Leadership to Support Growing Demand in Government

Building on four years of record growth, Tricentis further expands into public sector market with its leading automated software testing platform

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Tricentis, the world’s #1 testing platform for modern cloud and enterprise applications, today announced the expansion of a public sector program focused on federal, state and local government, and education. Following growing demand in the space, the company also announced the hire of John Phillips as vice president of public sector. These moves follow multiple achievements in 2020, including a new partnership with Carahsoft Technology Corp., The Trusted Government IT Solutions Provider®, leading and the California Department of General Services.

Phillips brings over two decades of experience managing enterprise software sales in the public sector market and has worked with large enterprise software companies such as Cisco, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and IBM, in addition to a number of innovative early-stage startups that were either acquired or went IPO. In his role, Phillips leads the public sector go-to-market strategy, focusing on the growing Dev/Sec/Ops space and building upon strategic partner relationships, including SAP.

“The US federal government along with state and local governments are shifting away from waterfall software development to Dev/Sec/Ops models in order to meet software delivery cycles,” said Phillips. “I’m excited to join the Tricentis team and begin assisting public sector agencies to automate their testing requirements in order to digitally transform, innovate, and increase efficiency as they provide improved services for their constituents.”

With an increasing need to deliver new software features, updates, and services, Tricentis’ partnership with Carahsoft, the Master Government Aggregator® and distributor of software in the public sector, comes at a perfect time. Through the partnership, Tricentis’ automated software testing solutions are now available on federal contracts, including Carahsoft’s SEWP V and ITES-SW2 vehicles. Carahsoft’s extensive partner ecosystem of systems integrators, national and localized resellers, and alliance partners provides greater availability of Tricentis’ software testing capabilities for agencies, allowing Tricentis to create new solutions specifically designed for public sector needs.

“Over the past few years, we have seen agencies start to invest heavily in software enabled solutions to meet mission needs and with that, automated testing has become imperative for government agencies in order to allow them to protect and ensure that software is functioning properly,” said Seamus Bergen, sales manager for the Tricentis team at Carahsoft. “With the addition of Tricentis’ cutting-edge AI-based software testing to our ecosystem, our customers are able to advance their digital transformation efforts and improve their quality assurance processes. We are excited to bring Tricentis’ leading testing platform to our public sector customers and reseller partners.”

Tricentis aims to build upon its existing base of public sector customers and grow its public sector presence with a pipeline of product enhancements scheduled to best serve the needs of government agencies looking to automate their testing capabilities. As demand for solutions to further digital transformation continues to increase, automated software testing will prove vital to ensure the timeliness and efficiency of software deployments, and enable federal, state, and local agencies to continue to meet the public’s expectations.
