THOUSAND OAKS, Calif.--()--Silverado is pleased to announce that its new state-of-the-art memory care community in Thousand Oaks, California, is open and accepting residents as of March 29. The purpose-built community will provide Silverado’s signature style of compassionate, life-changing, evidence-based care to 82 people with Alzheimer’s disease and other memory impairing conditions.

The two-story community is Silverado’s first in Ventura County, located on a hilltop, and features spectacular views of the surrounding hills and environment at 980 Warwick Ave, Thousand Oaks. The new community fulfills the need for Silverado’s innovative care not just in Thousand Oaks but surrounding areas like Malibu, Agoura Hills, Camarillo and Westlake Village.

Silverado Thousand Oaks was designed from the ground up to meet the unique needs of the memory-impaired. These include skylights and sunrooms to draw in natural light and warmth; Eversound technology to aid residents’ ability to hear, improving their quality of engagements; and living areas to provide residents with inviting, comfortable spaces for social interaction. Skilled and compassionate associates practice Silverado’s industry-leading model for care, including the strength-based Nexus® brain-health program.

While Silverado is a leading innovator in its world-class programming, it is the company’s associates that make the real difference in giving residents a truly exceptional quality of life. This is illustrated by Silverado earning industry-leading recognition on the Fortune Best Workplaces for Aging Services™ list for the third straight year. 93% of Silverado associates say, My work has a special meaning: this is not Just a Job!

The new community opens ready to meet the current pandemic’s challenges, with a staff vaccinated against COVID-19. Companywide, Silverado has created a safe “bubble” around communities with a vaccination rate exceeding 95% for residents and staff.

Loren Shook, President, Chairman, CEO, and Founder of Silverado shared, “Many families have experienced the unique needs of their loved ones with memory impairments, and being most concerned about their safety have struggled to find quality care during this pandemic.” He adds, “Offering and committing to maintaining a staff that has received the vaccine creates a great level of confidence when they decide to place their loved one with Silverado.”

The community is led by experienced Administrator Ronda Wilkin, RCFE, CDP, who brings more than three decades in the health and human services fields. The community’s clinical practices will be overseen and guided by Medical Director Boules Salib, MD, MPH, who brings a wealth of experience and expertise in the care of those aging and living with dementia.
