AxleHire Helps Establish the First-Ever U.S. Zero Emissions Delivery Zone

AxleHire is uniquely equipped to help cities across the U.S. establish their own ZE delivery zones

EMERYVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AxleHire, the leader in logistics innovation for last-mile delivery, uses its unique technology, methods, and services to achieve zero emissions, helping the city of Santa Monica launch and deploy the first-of-its-kind U.S. voluntary zero emissions delivery zone (ZE delivery zone).

The Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI) worked with AxleHire, LA County, LA Metro, ROUSH CleanTech, Nissan Motor Corporation, Shopify, and others to establish a voluntary ZE delivery zone in the commercial activity core of Santa Monica. The first U.S. ZE delivery zone features delivery companies like AxleHire who utilize micro-mobility from companies like Tortoise and light- and medium-duty electric vehicles from companies like Arcimoto for food and parcel delivery.

“With e-commerce at an all-time high, it’s important for cities to transition to safer and cleaner deliveries. However, most national delivery companies can only dream of one-day achieving zero emissions,” said Daniel Sokolovsky, AxleHire president and founder. “AxleHire, a direct competitor with FedEx and UPS for last-mile delivery services, is proud to have utilized a mix of technology and methodologies to help Santa Monica establish the nation’s first ZE delivery zone.”

AxleHire’s participation in launching and deploying Santa Monica’s ZE delivery zone has provided a blueprint for other metropolitan areas to do the same. ZE delivery zones demonstrate how commercial and residential hubs can reduce air pollution, noise and congestion, and improve safety. AxleHire, empowered by its success in Santa Monica, is ready to help other U.S. cities across the country pave the way to their own ZE delivery zones.
