Adventist Health Joins California’s Health Data Network Manifest MedEx

The innovative health system is partnering with MX to transform care and improve community health and wellbeing

EMERYVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Manifest MedEx (MX) today announced the addition of Adventist Health to the nonprofit health data network spanning more than 25 million Californians. Adventist Health’s faith-based, nonprofit integrated health system will be connecting 21 hospitals from Fort Bragg to Los Angeles and approximately 7 million patients to the health information network. Through this agreement, Adventist Health gains access to powerful data and tools to serve patients, including longitudinal health records, real-time notifications on patient hospitalizations and lab results, and data and tools to effectively manage population health.

Participation in MX is another step towards Adventist Health’s larger goals of rapid healthcare transformation. The system recently acquired Blue Zones to support systemic and environmental community health, launched a 150-bed virtual hospital, invested in behavioral health technology, and announced a shift in their leadership to align with a 10-year plan to move from being a hospital-centered organization to a “health company.” Adventist Health largely serves small and rural communities in the state, with a significant share of underserved and high-risk elderly patients.

“Health is much more than a hospital,” said Bill Wing, president of Adventist Health. “By joining Manifest MedEx, we are building our toolkit for serving as a health ally to our communities. Through this partnership, we can better focus attention on the people who need it most, keep them safely home from the hospital, and collaborate to build health and wellbeing for all Californians.”

As California’s health data network, MX delivers clinical and claims data across a network of more than 120 hospitals, 700 ambulatory care sites and 7 health plans. MX helps California health leaders improve care, enhance health and reduce costs.

“Adventist Health’s commitment to creating health and wellbeing is tremendously inspiring,” said Claudia Williams, CEO of Manifest MedEx. “We’re honored to help them achieve their goals of better care and healthier communities through connected healthcare.”

Hospitals and health systems that join Manifest MedEx this year can qualify for incentives while meeting new interoperability regulations. Learn more at ManifestMedEx.org.
