CARFAX Canada Launches Car Care

New App Makes Car Maintenance Easier for Canadians

LONDON, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CARFAX Canada, the country’s leading source of vehicle history information, has introduced a free service that makes taking care of a car easier than ever. CARFAX Canada Car Care helps vehicle owners stay on top of complicated car maintenance schedules and takes the hassle out of keeping track of service records. All it takes for Canadians to sign up is an email address and the license plates or VINs they want to add via carfax.ca/service.

1 in 5 vehicles have an open recall, and research by CARFAX Canada uncovered that Canadians want an easy way to know if their vehicle has been impacted. Car Care gives Canadians peace of mind by providing automatic recall alerts that can help owners be aware of open recalls that impact how their vehicle runs and its safety.

Additional benefits of Car Care include:

  • Helpful reminders that alert users of upcoming service recommendations specific to their vehicle. Since these vary by make/model and mileage interval, it helps busy Canadians stay organized, especially if the household has more than one vehicle to maintain.
  • A search feature that helps users find participating service shops in their area. The listings come with local ratings and reviews, taking the guesswork out of which shops are trusted for quality repairs and maintenance.
  • Access to historical maintenance services done at participating shops by previous owners. This provides important information to the current owner regarding which services were completed in the past and the cadence that they were performed.
  • The capability to automatically track and store services completed by participating shops, easily keeping a digital record of a vehicle’s service history in one place. These records are valuable when it comes time to sell the vehicle, helping to prove that it’s in great shape.

“We’re proud to launch Car Care as it helps Canadians keep their vehicles in top condition which we know is not always an easy task,” shares Mark Rousseau, President and GM at CARFAX Canada. “Given that a car is one of the most significant investments you’ll make in your lifetime, it’s understandable that you want to take great care of it. Car Care makes this task simple with convenient reminders, a search function for trusted shops and digital record keeping all in one place.”

Canadians told us that Car Care saves them from having to dig through paper receipts in their glovebox or consult the user manual to know which services have been completed on their vehicle. Further, many owners were not sure exactly which service the vehicle required next, especially if they have an older model that’s not under warranty anymore. Car Care users like the fact that this information was accessible on their smart phone and that they didn’t have to do the work to figure it out themselves.

Canadian car owners can create a free CARFAX Canada Car Care account online in seconds at: carfax.ca/service or by downloading the app for iPhone and Android mobile devices.
