SEOUL, South Korea--()--Today, Seoul-based EdTech startup Mathpresso announced that its math-solver app, QANDA has solved over 1.3 billion questions and used by over 7 million monthly active users, a 370% growth within 1 year.

Developed by Korea’s leading EdTech startup, Mathpresso, ‘QANDA’ is a mobile app that enables students of all levels to receive instant solutions and 1-on-1 support from some of the world’s top-university tutors. Users can take a photo of a math problem, upload it to the app, and then QANDA’s AI-based optical character recognition scan will find and solve it in approximately five seconds. QANDA provides both the 1-on-1 Q&A feature (human-based) and auto-search (AI-based) feature, a unique hybrid that solves any math problems ranging from equations to geometric questions.

Since its launch in 2016, QANDA has solved over 1.3 billion problems submitted by students from over 50 countries. More than 5 million questions are asked and searched through QANDA every day. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the company has seen a surge in demand for the e-learning platform, with its number of questions solved increasing from 500 million in April 2020 to 1.3 billion today.

Currently, QANDA is used by more than two-thirds of the entire grade K-12 student population in Korea, the country with one of the highest college enrollment rates in the world. QANDA also topped the educational charts in six countries, including Japan, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Thailand, winning over leading educational apps including Google Classroom and Photomath.

"Our competitive edge is that we provide both the AI-driven instant search function and human-driven Q&A function through tutors, while no other educational apps incorporate both features seamlessly,” said Ray Lee, CEO at Mathpresso. "We will continue to provide the most effective education for all students around the world.”
