Safety National Awards Safety First Grants for Creative Risk Control Solutions

ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Safety National announced the winners of the Company’s annual Safety First Grant Program today, awarding three policyholders for their creative risk control solutions.

The first-place $10,000 matching grant was awarded to Nebraska Medicine to implement an electronic ticketing system in conjunction with their existing environmental, health and safety rounding program. This enhancement enables their network of hospitals to identify and report all hazards in a consistent, trackable manner.

The second-place $5,000 matching grant was awarded to Virginia Auto Dealers Group Self-Insurance Association to provide tire handling devices to their automobile dealer insureds. Implementation of wheel arms is expected to reduce the back, knee and shoulder-related injuries commonly associated with wheel and tire handling.

The third-place $2,500 matching grant was awarded to Kentucky Association of Counties Workers’ Compensation Fund to implement a safe driving curriculum for their law enforcement insureds. These courses in emergency and pursuit driving are expected to reduce law enforcement motor vehicle accidents and related workers’ compensation claims.

The Safety First Grant Program is available to any Safety National workers’ compensation insurance policyholder with a risk control solution that aligns with Safety National’s lines of coverage.
