Thumbtack Appoints Melanie Margolin as Chief Legal Officer

General Counsel Who Has Led Multi-Billion Dollar Public Companies Joins Growing Executive Team

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Thumbtack, a leading local services marketplace, today announced it has added Melanie Margolin as Chief Legal Officer. Margolin will oversee the company’s legal organization, reporting to Marco Zappacosta, co-founder and CEO of Thumbtack.

Margolin has served as an executive committee member and strategic advisor to public companies. She has worked collaboratively on leadership teams to establish and execute company-wide objectives including annual operating plans, human resources strategy, business development initiatives, and transformations of boards of directors. Also among her achievements is designing and implementing a global litigation strategy for a $24 billion global power corporation.

Most recently Margolin served as SVP and General Counsel at Wabash National, an industrial manufacturing company with 6,500 employees and an annual revenue of $2.3 billion. Prior to Wabash, Margolin was Deputy General Counsel at Cummins, Inc., a global power manufacturing and distribution business with over 58,000 employees and a revenue of $24 billion.

Thumbtack has made a number of key additions to its executive ranks recently. In August, the company named Larry Roseman as CFO. Roseman brings over 20 years of broad finance experience and joined Thumbtack after holding various senior finance leadership positions at eBay. Earlier this year, Thumbtack also announced the addition of Jeff Grant as Chief Operating Officer. Grant previously served as COO and CEO at several consumer tech companies as well as GM of all travel verticals at Orbitz, running a $1.5 billion P&L across multiple lines of businesses.
