Galton Voysey Donates 30,000 Meals to Fight Against Hunger and COVID-19

HONG KONG--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Galton Voysey, its fully owned brands and customers have joined together to donate 30,000 meals in Hong Kong and the United States in their fight against hunger, a problem that has been severely exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Many families and children lack basic food security in the United States and Hong Kong; this year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the number of vulnerable people has grown to 50 million in the United States alone, including more than 17 million children. Many children rely on getting their three meals a day from their schools or food programs affiliated with their school districts. With closures across both nations and the general uncertainty about when they will reopen, a great deal of children are left without the guarantee of a meal on a daily basis.

Despite these struggles, many households with children do not qualify for governmental aid or help; in these situations, local food banks and hunger relief organizations provide essential support and services to the community. In this time of uncertainty and heightened anxiety, food security becomes even more fraught.

In light of these troubling times, Galton Voysey, the developer of direct-to-consumer brands, has donated 30,000 meals to Feeding Hong Kong® and Feeding America® , both well-established hunger-relief organizations that have been fighting tirelessly over the years to provide better food security for all. This marks the company’s most recent response and efforts against the pandemic. Earlier this year, in an early response to the growing pandemic, Galton Voysey donated 50,000 protective masks to hospitals and street cleaners - essential workers who are at the most vulnerable due to the potentially high levels of exposure.

The health and safety of employees remains a number one priority and Galton Voysey has also made significant efforts to equip and protect its employees against the pandemic as it continues. A large supply of sanitizers and protective face masks were delivered directly to employees’ homes and the company has implemented work-from-home procedures as and when necessary.

With their most recent donation, Galton Voysey hopes to help to alleviate the difficult situation many families across Hong Kong and America find themselves in.
