Robins Kaplan LLP Announces 2021 Partners

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Robins Kaplan LLP® is pleased to announce that Kevin Pasquinelli, Erica Ramsey, Ben Steinberg, Qian Julie Wang, and Brandy Worden have been promoted to partner, effective January 1, 2021.

“We welcome this outstanding group of attorneys to the partnership,” says Ronald J. Schutz, Chair of the Executive Board. “This partner class is representative of the diversity of talent across our offices and our practice groups and I look forward to their continued contributions to the world-class service we bring to our clients.”

Kevin Pasquinelli (Silicon Valley) is an intellectual property litigator with more than 20 years of experience working in the technology industry. Kevin’s professional background incorporates a wide range of technologies and products, including digital hardware, medical devices, system software, software development practices, telecommunications technology, enterprise software, and network management software. He has represented clients ranging from start-up companies to the Fortune 500 in numerous patent, trade secret, licensing, and trademark disputes.

Erica Ramsey (Sioux Falls) practices in the firm’s national Business Litigation Group, representing both plaintiffs and defendants with an emphasis on catastrophic loss and product liability litigation. Erica also regularly represents clients in cases involving construction defect claims, contractual disputes, and consumer fraud allegations. She has a growing practice applying her experience to clients in the insurance industry, representing insurers in coverage and bad faith litigation and providing coverage advice.

Ben Steinberg (New York) is an antitrust litigator who prosecutes anticompetitive conduct, with a particular focus on conspiracies. He represents consumers and businesses harmed by price fixing, illegal monopolization, and other unlawful business practices. Ben has helped lead several groundbreaking lawsuits across the country, where he has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars on behalf of his clients. In 2020, the American Antitrust Institute honored Ben for “Outstanding Antitrust Litigation Achievement by a Young Lawyer.” Ben is an emerging public voice on antitrust issues and is regularly published in the national press.

Qian Julie Wang (New York) is an experienced commercial litigator, with a breadth of experience in shareholder derivative suits, contract disputes, and corporate governance. She has particular experience with legal malpractice suits, having been involved in some of the largest such cases in history, which she has resolved quickly and with unprecedented results. She is also a seasoned appellate lawyer: aside from two appellate clerkships, Julie has briefed and argued over 40 civil cases in state and federal appellate courts. She has authored two Supreme Court amicus briefs, including one filed on behalf of 31 major municipalities. Her writing has been featured in the New York Times and Bloomberg, among other publications.

Brandy Worden (Los Angeles) counsels clients on domestic and international cybersecurity, privacy, marketing and insurance coverage issues. In collaboration with businesses, she develops privacy and marketing compliance programs and negotiates contracts implicating personal data, including cross-border data transfers. Brandy prepares companies for cyber incidents by drafting incident response plans and playing them out in tabletop exercises. She also counsels businesses through the aftermath of cyber incidents, including representation in incident response as a breach coach, navigating regulator investigations and litigation, including privacy class actions. Brandy also applies her cyber expertise to represent insurance companies in coverage counseling and litigation involving cyber risks. In addition to cyber risk, Brandy represents insurance carriers in property, energy, and infrastructure industry claims (including those with damages exceeding $700 million) and litigation.
