Code42 Wins Second Consecutive Minnesota Technology Association Tekne Award for Data Security

Recognized for innovations in managing insider risk, helping companies mitigate file exfiltration without disrupting legitimate collaboration

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Code42, the leader in insider risk detection and response, announced that it won a Minnesota Technology Association 2020 Tekne Award. The Code42 IncydrTM platform was recognized in the data security category for innovating the ways companies detect and respond to insider risk and data loss, leak and theft. For the past 23 years, the Tekne Awards have highlighted the new and exciting ways technology developed by Minnesota companies is impacting our community and the world.

“In the past year, two-thirds of all data breaches involved insiders. Code42 Incydr helps businesses identify indicators of risk, which could mean someone may be exfiltrating data. And when data is exfiltrated, Incydr shows what, when and how the insider took it. This is game-breaking technology – validated by some of the world's best security companies who are using it today in their own security programs,” said Joe Payne, Code42’s president and CEO. “It is an honor for Code42 and Incydr to be recognized with a Tekne Award this year.”

“The Tekne Awards recognize the innovators and tech leaders powering Minnesota’s growing science and technology economy,” said Jeff Tollefson, president and CEO of the Minnesota Technology Association. “This year we were especially excited to honor organizations that showed swift and innovative responses to the COVID-19 crisis.”

Incydr is a SaaS data risk detection and response platform that allows security teams to effectively mitigate file exposure and exfiltration risks without disrupting legitimate collaboration.

The foundation of Incydr’s ability to speed insider risk detection and response comes from monitoring all file activity regardless of what is considered acceptable or unacceptable by security policy. This allows Incydr to not only reduce alerts and investigation time, but also remediate risk that goes unnoticed by conventional data security technologies.

Companies competed for Tekne Awards in 16 primary award categories, ranging from Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning to Technology for Good.
