Simbe Names Brooks Augustine as Senior Vice President of Sales

Veteran Retail Technology Sales Executive to Lead Company Expansion into New Markets, Empowering Retailers With Invaluable Shelf Insights

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Simbe Robotics, Inc., the company leveraging robotics and AI to provide retailers with real-time insights into inventory and operations, today announced that experienced sales executive Brooks Augustine has joined the company as Senior Vice President of Sales.

With more than 30 years of sales and managerial experience at companies like Procter & Gamble, PepsiCo, Nielsen, IRI, and Hewlett-Packard, Augustine brings invaluable insights and learnings around core inventory management challenges and is poised to accelerate the onboarding of Simbe’s customers for its industry-leading autonomous inventory robot Tally.

“On the heels of Simbe’s significant momentum over the past few months, we’re continuing to grow our team as we expand our work with retailers across the globe,” said Simbe Co-Founder and CEO Brad Bogolea. “Brooks has a tremendous amount of experience and expertise selling business and technology solutions, particularly in the retail and consumer packaged goods (CPG) space, and we welcome his energy and passion to our growing team.”

Augustine brings a unique depth of expertise in the consumer packaged goods sector to the Simbe team, working in sales positions at both PepsiCo and Procter & Gamble, where he honed his skills building strategic partnerships, transforming go-to-market strategies, and leading a variety of client teams. After eleven years in sales, Augustine moved to Nielsen and later InContext Solutions, where he gained significant experience in marketing and executive leadership before moving on to scaling startups. Most recently, Augustine was the Head of Sales at Jyve, a talent marketplace for brands and retailers to connect with certified talent, where he helped the company scale their revenue from $5 million to $50 million.

“More than ever before, retailers are laser focused on improving their supply chain to enable better availability and reduce out-of-stocks for their shoppers," said Augustine. "I am thrilled to lead Simbe's sales efforts and work with customers to demonstrate how Tally’s real-time product location and availability data will improve in-stock conditions, identify pricing errors, build more efficient supply chains, and create a better shopping experience.”

To date, Simbe has deployed Tally in more than a dozen of the world’s top retailers in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. The company raised $26 million in Series A funding in September 2019, along with inventory financing to develop and deploy an additional 1,000 Tally robots over the next two years. In September 2020, the company announced its largest expansion to-date with Schnuck Markets, rolling out Tally robots to more than half of its stores, and in October 2020, introduced Tally 3.0, the latest iteration of its best-in-class robot.
