Spartech Announces Closing of Its La Mirada, Calif. Facility

ST. LOUIS, Mo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Spartech, a leading manufacturer of engineered thermoplastics and custom packaging solutions, announces it will close its La Mirada, Calif. facility to improve operational efficiency, eliminate excess and redundant capacity and more effectively utilize organizational resources. The phasing out of this location will take place over the next several months.

“We will work closely with our customers for a smooth transition, and ultimately, continue to improve the overall value we provide them,” says Spartech CEO John Inks. “Production at the La Mirada facility will be moved to other Spartech locations in North America that we consider ‘Centers of Excellence’ for these product families.”

Existing demand plus anticipated growth is well within the capabilities of the remaining Spartech manufacturing facilities and these changes will not impact Spartech’s ability to react and supply products to support a COVID-19 response.
