FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich.--()--GreenPath Financial Wellness, a national nonprofit that provides financial counseling and debt management services, has been awarded a Top Workplaces 2020 honor by The Detroit Free Press. This is the fifth time GreenPath has received this distinction. The list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage, LLC. The anonymous survey uniquely measures 15 drivers of engaged cultures that are critical to the success of any organization: including alignment, execution, and connection, just to name a few.

In times of great change, it is more important than ever to maintain a connection among employees,” said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. “When you give your employees a voice, you come together to navigate challenges and shape your path forward based on real-time insights into what works best for your organization. The Top Workplaces program can be that positive outcome your company can rally around in the coming months to celebrate leadership and the importance of maintaining an employee-focused culture, even during challenging times.”

“We’re so proud that it is our employees who recognize GreenPath as a top workplace, who acknowledge GreenPath’s creative and empathetic culture, as well as our people-centered approach to the work we do,” said Kristen Holt, President and CEO of GreenPath Financial Wellness.

GreenPath employees lifted up the company’s generous educational benefits for professional and life-long learning, state-of-the-art office complete with gym, outdoor community area and cafe featuring healthy meal choices; company Town Halls and the GreenSpace online portal for employee engagement.

GreenPath employees also recognized the company’s response during the pandemic. GreenPath mobilized a rapid-response crisis team to transition 99 percent of the workforce to remote work during the initial days of COVID-19 pandemic. Company leadership provided ongoing communications and educational programs, and GreenPath’s Empathy Coach delivered self-care workshops virtually. Several benefits were offered to support employees during the pandemic, including flexible schedules, the Grant Circles Program (emergency money for employee hardship), and COVID Paid Time Off (PTO) Buyout program.

“GreenPath understands that a company’s strength comes from its people,” adds Susan Murphy, GreenPath’s Chief People Officer. “GreenPath employees are committed to transforming personal finance so it works for everyone. Our employees bring their authentic selves to work each day to make it easier for everyone to improve their financial health. Especially during the economic upheavals of the pandemic, our shared purpose of providing judgement-free, empathetic guidance is at the heart of our success.”
