Vcinity Named a Gartner 2020 Cool Vendor in Storage and Backup & Recovery

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Vcinity, Inc., the company redefining hybrid cloud, has been named a “Cool Vendor” in Gartner’s October 2020 Cool Vendors in Storage and Backup and Recovery report. Authored by esteemed analysts Julia Palmer and Jerry Rozeman, the report recognizes that, “I&O [Infrastructure & Operations] leaders responsible for data center infrastructure must improve global file access by implementing solutions that enable access and consolidation of global file services across the WAN as a new approach to WAN acceleration or file replication.”

Enterprises will waste billions of dollars moving files around because applications and data must be collocated to execute. Explosive data growth, edge, hybrid and multi-cloud infrastructures exacerbate the problem. The move-copy status quo is now officially an unjustifiable waste of corporate assets and resources. With Vcinity, moving and copying files is no longer required to enable workflows to operate and applications to execute. Productivity is dramatically improved by eliminating the time delays, and costs of moving and copying data are avoided.

“Vcinity’s solutions enable instant, secure access to data anywhere across the globe. The need to download, upload, copy, pre-cache or pre-stage data is no longer necessary,” said Harry Carr, CEO of Vcinity. “We are elated to be recognized as a Gartner Cool Vendor. We are on a mission to disrupt the status quo and dramatically enhance the velocity of enterprise IT. There is no other company that can provide the agility of compute anywhere, data everywhere, with instant application executability that Vcinity provides. Having Gartner recognize our presence in the market is exciting to the great team here at Vcinity.”

The Gartner report further adds, “These [Distributed File Systems and Object Storage] systems are becoming the platforms of choice to address the growth of unstructured data across on-premises and cloud environments, as organizations demand scalability, flexibility, availability, automation and programmability.”

Vcinity’s product suite can be deployed in virtually any enterprise environment, including on-premise, colocation data centers, or in a public, private, hybrid, or multi- cloud.
