Robotic Research Clinches Top 20 on List of DC Area’s Fastest Growing Companies

CLARKSBURG, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Robotic Research LLC, a leading provider of autonomy and robotic technologies to government and commercial customers, announced today it ranked No. 20 on the Fast 75, an annual list of the D.C. area’s fastest growing companies published by the Washington Business Journal. This is the first year Robotic Research has been on the list, which ranks companies based on the average percent of revenue growth over the last three years.

“We are thrilled to be celebrated as one of the top 20 fastest growing companies in the greater Washington region, especially during these challenging times,” said Alberto Lacaze, president of Robotic Research. “We have much to be thankful for, and credit our success to our incredible team, who have worked hard to rapidly advance our autonomous and robotic technologies in both defense and commercial markets.”

This past year was a break-out one for Robotic Research, who leveraged its past success delivering unmanned and driver-assist solutions for the defense community to bring proven autonomous vehicle technology to commercial market leaders in areas of busing, shuttle and trucking operations. In doing so, the company doubled its commercial sector value. The company also added revenue through Robotic Research’s expanding product portfolio, which in 2019 included the launch of its Pegasus™ family of drones that uniquely combine ground and aerial functions creating an entirely new category of hybrid UGV/UAV robots.

“A critical component of our successful growth the past year has been our ability to bring our industry-leading AutoDrive® kit to public transportation projects in the U.S. and around the world, helping to improve mass transit systems by reducing commute times, increasing efficiencies, and extending transit accessibility to more citizens,” added Lacaze. “At the same time, we’ve developed unique and valuable ground and aerial autonomy platforms for the defense community that will help save lives and give our forces new capabilities to improve operations and mission success.”

Robotic Research is currently supporting autonomous public sector transit programs in more than 20 locations around the world. The company’s unique technology enables commercial vehicles to navigate complex pathways on or off roads and in areas, even those without access to GPS. Robotic Research just recently showcased a newly added capability to its autonomous vehicle platform that allows a truck with a trailer to retrotraverse, which is the process of autonomously backing up.
