Alliance Party Says Trump-Pelosi Stimulus Standoff Hurting Millions of Americans; Two Parties Again Put Politics Above the Welfare of the People

WASHINGTON--()--The failure of President Donald Trump and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to reach an agreement on the second round of stimulus to ease the suffering of millions of Americans is a game of political hardball where neither side wins and the American people lose.

That’s the assertion of the leadership of the Alliance Party, the nation’s fastest-growing independent third party, with candidates running Nov. 3 for offices in 26 states.

“It is difficult to imagine arguing over a billion here and a billion there while millions of people are in food lines, unemployed, being evicted, missing mortgages, going without healthcare and suffering illness and death from the corona virus,” declared Alliance Party National Chair Jim Rex.

“Once again, as any impartial observer can ascertain, both sides are interested in reaching an agreement to relieve economic suffering only if it can be turned into political advantage for their party and its candidates for the upcoming election. They have dug in their heels at a time of unprecedented economic pain for millions in this country.”

According to CBS News, Pelosi had previously rejected a $1.8 trillion proposal by the White House, arguing that it did not do enough on provisions such as testing and tracing and on funding for childcare. Economists warn that failing to inject another dose of fiscal stimulus could stall the recovery, given the ongoing pandemic and economic headwinds.

“Unfortunately, what history tells us is that when a large enough percentage of a nation’s citizens are hungry, cold, sick, without shelter while at war – in this case in a life-or-death struggle with a deadly virus – the situation is ripe for revolution,” said Roque “Rocky” De La Fuente, the Alliance Party’s presidential candidate, with vice presidential running mate Darcy G. Richardson. “That’s not part of the American spirit or in our national psyche as a remedy for needed change, or at least it has not been until now.

“The Republicans and Democrats once again have proven they are unfit to govern. America needs and deserves the responsive, caring government envisioned by the Alliance Party, its candidate and supporters.”
