Scale Computing Announces Acronis Agentless Backup for Scale Computing HC3, Support for Acronis Cyber Backup 15

Scale Computing customers can now easily protect and quickly restore any workload running on HC3 at the cluster level without the need to install or use any "in guest" backup agent

INDIANAPOLIS--()--Scale Computing, a market leader in edge computing, virtualization and hyperconverged solutions, today announced it is offering Acronis Agentless Backup for Scale Computing HC3, allowing for full virtual machine backup and fast recovery for HC3 clusters. This innovation delivers easy, efficient, reliable and secure protection for all data and apps in on-premises and remote systems, in private and public clouds, and on mobile devices.

Scale Computing today also announced that it is now offering Acronis Cyber Backup 15 Advanced, adding a further dimension to the existing OEM partnership with the global leader in cyber protection. Designed for enterprises utilizing larger environments with more users and more complex infrastructure, it includes data protection against ransomware, crypto mining, and advanced backup features, such as group management, shared protection plans, off-host data processing, tape support, deduplication, and customizable reporting.

Acronis for Scale Computing HC3 allows Acronis backup technology to easily protect and restore any workload running on HC3 on a host-basis, without the need to install or use any "in guest" backup agent, both simplifying and accelerating this function. It communicates with HC3 natively and contains a protection agent that enables customers to administer cyber protection for all virtual machines in the cluster and enables full virtual machine backup and recovery for the entire HC3 cluster. The Acronis Agent for Scale Computing HC3 connects to the Acronis Management Server and can backup and restore data directly to Acronis backup storage locations including cloud based backup storage.

Scale Computing also offers Acronis Cloud Storage. The easy to use cloud subscription from Acronis gives Scale Computing HC3 customers a powerful, highly available, hybrid redundant backup storage solution delivering disaster recovery protection and cyberthreat mitigation. By offering Acronis Cloud Storage, Scale Computing provides customers with a safe, secure and easy place to back up data. By integrating the Scale Computing HC3 platform with Acronis Cyber Backup, users can benefit from a wide range of advanced backup and protection features, including granular object-level recovery, variable-length deduplication for backups, and active ransomware protection.

“We are seeing considerable demand from today’s businesses for data protection, backup and disaster recovery. Integrating the Scale Computing HC3 platform with Acronis helps customers meet these priorities in a simple and cost-effective way,” explained Jeff Ready, CEO and co-founder, Scale Computing. “Scale Computing customers can now quickly, easily and securely store their Acronis backups locally or in the cloud, with a scalable solution that is designed for agile businesses.”
