SONOMA, Calif.--()--Sonoma-based real estate investment firm, A&C Ventures, Inc. (ACV) is sharing details of their “Tiburon Reimagined” project, a comprehensive revitalization plan for properties they own in downtown Tiburon. The new venues currently under construction - including a highly anticipated restaurant by Chef Michael Mina, scheduled to open first quarter of 2021 - are aimed at enhancing the downtown Tiburon landscape for generations to come. “We are thrilled,” said ACV Founder and CEO, David Grieve, “to be at a stage where we can share news with the community about the projects we have invested in and worked on for several years.”

Restaurant by Michael Mina

The Michael Mina restaurant project, located on the water at 5 Main Street, will have sweeping San Francisco Bay views, and offer an exciting social dining experience. “I have always loved Tiburon,” said Mina, “and this is my home turf. This community and this location deserve a world-class venue, and I can’t wait to share our incredible restaurant concept that we have in the works.”

Malibu Farm

Nextdoor to Chef Michael Mina’s project, another of ACV’s projects is underway. Said Grieve, “We are delighted to announce Malibu Farm has agreed to lease the two-story, 9 Main Street building currently occupied by Servino Ristorante. The Servino family, who have served the community for over 40 years, will continue to operate the Caffé Acri location at 1 Main Street, which will include dinner service and long-time favorite Servino dishes. We are fortunate and thankful that Angelo, Kathryn, Natale and Vittorio, plan to continue their family’s restaurant tradition in Tiburon for years to come.” Malibu Farm, owned by Chef Helene Henderson and her husband, John Stockwell, is a farm-to-table restaurant, focused on local, fresh and organic ingredients. Helene and John opened their first location on the Malibu Pier in 2014 and have since expanded to restaurants in Newport Beach, Montecito, New York, Miami, Cabo and Tokyo. “To have a location on The San Francisco Bay overlooking Angel Island and The City is a dream,” said Helene. “John, I and our children are eager to introduce ourselves and thrilled to have the opportunity to share the Malibu Farm experience with the community.” Servino’s will continue to operate in its current location until construction begins on the new Malibu Farm restaurant next year.

SG Ellison, ACV’s President, added, “Having world class restaurateurs like Michael, Helene and John set up shop in Tiburon is a testament to the downtown’s coveted locale and its future. When combined with Main Street’s existing restaurants including Sam’s, Luna Blu and Salt & Pepper, we think the addition of a Michael Mina restaurant and Malibu Farm will further catapult Tiburon to one of the top culinary and shopping destinations in northern California.”

1696 Tiburon Boulevard (the former New Morning Café location)

In addition to the new restaurants on Main Street, ACV continues to make significant investments in the commercial landscape of downtown Tiburon. After completing a multimillion-dollar upgrade to bring the Maritime Building (located across from the Tiburon Lodge) to code and improve the parking lot and utilities, work is underway framing the new building at 1696 Tiburon Boulevard (the former New Morning Café location). When completed later this year, the new building will include a 1,500 sq. ft. restaurant space on the street level with a 3,000 sq. ft. condominium on the second and third floors, capturing the spectacular City and Angel Island views. According to Mr. Ellison, “One of our main goals has always been to add more living density to downtown, and this is our first step on that path. The multi-use building combines new design elements with more traditional nautical details to compliment Tiburon’s bayside vibe.”

Activation of Former Shark’s Deli Location

ACV has also submitted plans to the Tiburon Design Review Board for the former Shark’s Deli location, at the corner of Tiburon Boulevard and Beach Avenue. Per Ellison, “The Shark’s corner is a really important piece of the puzzle, and with the help of our designers at Crome Architecture, we have an exceptional design planned. With a nod to its historical roots as an automobile service station, our vision transforms the existing building and a significant portion of the parking lot into an indoor-outdoor, family-oriented bistro concept complete with retro garage doors, a large outdoor trellis-covered dining patio and a recreational lawn area. This corner location has amazing potential and we want to make it an inviting place for families to gather on a regular basis. We are actively engaging with potential operators for the location and expect to have the property activated next year.”

Main Street Retail Businesses

All of ACV’s Main Street properties are fully occupied, including new tenants, The Perfect Provenance at 30 Main Street, and both the Tiburon Chamber visitors center (“The Tiburon Depot”) and destination: Tiburon, sharing the 46B Main Street space.

Additionally, The Caviar Company, a sister-founded, locally-owned caviar and champagne tasting room & retail store, plans to open before the end of this year at 46 Main Street. The purveyor of fine caviar, will be offering onsite caviar and champagne tastings as well as purchase to-go options.

A new wine lounge, Squalo Vino, featuring a selection of artisan wine and small bites will occupy 34 Main Street.
