CHICAGO--()--Arturo, provider of AI-powered residential and commercial property analytics data and predictive analysis, today announced it has appointed Michelle “MJ” Joseph as Chief People Officer and secured Nate Ricklin, PhD, as the Vice President of Engineering. Joseph brings a successful history of organizationally structuring and scaling with an emphasis on culture to Arturo. Ricklin will lead the engineering team by leveraging his extensive experience using artificial intelligence (AI) to extract insight from remote-sensing imagery, and he will exercise his deep roots in the geospatial community to benefit the company.

“Both of these leaders come to Arturo with individual strengths that will propel the company forward,” said John-Isaac Clark, CEO of Arturo. “We are currently in a growth-mode and we need the best people possible to help lead the company during this time.”

Joseph previously held leadership and strategy positions with organizations that ranged from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. In 2011, she launched her own innovative recruitment and talent consulting company, PeopleFoundry, Inc. At PeopleFoundry, she focused on building teams in high-growth technology and digital sectors. During her eight years running the consultancy she built a model and process to promote strategic growth in a cost-contained way for her clients. The company served as the recruiting and retention arm for its clients and was focused on matching the right talent with the right companies allowing them to flourish and grow because they were able to identify the right person for each role.

“I am excited to work with MJ to build our team in a way that reflects our culture and allows us to scale the company to meet the needs of our clients,” said Clark. “Her experience leading teams that unlock human capital is just what we need right now.”

Dr. Nate Ricklin has been tapped to serve as vice president of Engineering. His previous experience leading large teams combined with his knowledge of AI will help Arturo produce innovative solutions for its clients. Ricklin come to Arturo with more than 10-years of experience in geospatial industry. In 2010, he co-founded Tomnod, a web-based crowdsourcing system, that was later acquired by DigitalGlobe. Most recently he was with Maxar Technologies where he led online services products.

“I have known Nate for a long time and I have been highly impressed with his ingenuity,” said Ben Tuttle, PhD, CTO of Arturo. “His reputation as a people-leader with the ability to rally contributors toward innovative solutions makes him the perfect person to lead our talented group of engineers right now.”
