Axis Communications Launches VISCA Compatible PTZ Camera for Broadcasting and Live Streaming

AXIS V5925 PTZ Network Camera combines PTZ control with studio-grade audio and image quality.

CHELMSFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As more organizations plan to broadcast or live stream their events, and consumers expect high-quality video and a seamless viewing experience, Axis Communications introduces a new solution: The AXIS V5925 PTZ Network Camera, a feature-rich camera that offers excellent video quality and studio-grade audio for professional live streaming and broadcasting. The AXIS V5925 is ideal for use in auditoriums, classrooms, and for indoor sports events--allowing users to effectively reach a broader, remote audience through the internet and other broadcast media.

The AXIS V5925 is a versatile, high-quality camera that combines excellent image quality with smooth PTZ control including sports mode and stage mode, and studio-grade audio for professional broadcasting and live streaming. The camera offers excellent HDTV 1080p at 60fps and 30x zoom. VISCA RS-232 based control system allows for easy integration with existing AV installations and VISCA over IP allows for remote control of multiple cameras via a LAN connection. Additionally, for simple or mobile installations, a 3-month Camstreamer trial license is included, which enables live streaming to platforms such as YouTube and Facebook Live directly from the camera over an IP network.

“We’re excited to meet the growing demand for live video with a camera that’s packed with all the features a broadcast professional would expect--and more,” said Ryan Gregory, Director of Solutions & Services, Axis Communications, Inc. “The AXIS V5925 is powerful and well-designed with features like balanced XLR inputs and 48V phantom power for studio-grade microphones. HDMI and 3G-SDI outputs let users connect to most professional video switchers, and with the VISCA RS-232 control system users can easily integrate the camera into their existing AV system. The V5925 is truly a versatile camera that makes professional broadcast simple.”

AXIS V5925 PTZ Network Camera key features include:

  • HDTV 1080p at 60fps and 30x zoom
  • Studio-grade audio with XLR inputs
  • VISCA and VISCA over IP support
  • Camstreamer 3-month trial included
  • 3G-SDI and HDMI outputs

The AXIS V5925 is equipped with enhanced security features to prevent unauthorized access and safeguard your system, such as signed firmware and secure boot to guarantee that firmware hasn’t been altered and ensure only authorized firmware is installed. Additionally, Axis Zipstream with H.264 and H.265 significantly reduces bandwidth and storage requirements without compromising image quality.
