NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Centerview Partners, a leading independent investment banking advisory firm, announced today that John Rhea has joined the firm as a Partner in the New York office. Mr. Rhea brings more than 30 years of experience in investment banking and capital markets to Centerview and is a trusted senior advisor across industries, particularly in the consumer and real estate sectors. He joins Centerview after a long career in government service and finance, including at leading financial institutions JPMorgan Chase & Co., Lehman Brothers, Barclays Capital, and most recently, Siebert Williams Shank & Co. In his new role, Mr. Rhea will provide senior level counsel to new and existing Centerview clients, with a focus on capital advisory, general and M&A advisory, real estate, and corporate impact.

Mr. Rhea has advised on over $300 billion in transactions over his career. At Siebert Williams Shank & Co., Mr. Rhea led M&A advisory, capital markets, and sales and trading for all corporate equities and fixed-income securities. Previously, he was a Senior Advisor to The Boston Consulting Group and, prior to that, was appointed by Michael Bloomberg, Mayor of the City of New York, as Chairman & CEO of the New York City Housing Authority. Earlier in his career, Mr. Rhea was Managing Director and Co-Head of Global Consumer & Retail Investment Banking at Barclays Capital and Managing Director at JPMorgan Chase & Co. He is also an experienced founder and principal investor in the commercial real estate and beverage industries.
Mr. Rhea is a former David Rockefeller Fellow and has been recognized as one of the “100 Most Powerful People in New York Real Estate” and “75 Most Powerful Blacks on Wall Street”. He currently serves on the board of directors of Invitation Homes (NYSE:INVH).
