Indeed Launches Free Virtual Hiring Tour to Get 20,000 Americans Hired

Connects job seekers and employers with virtual interviewing technology for accelerated hiring

AUSTIN, Texas--()--Indeed, the world’s number one job site, announced today the launch of a Virtual Hiring Tour across the United States, with a goal of getting 20,000 people hired. Starting today in the Western U.S. and moving to metros across the South, Midwest and Northeast through October, this virtual tour is free for job seekers and participating employers and includes a wide range of companies and open positions.

“With unemployment at record high levels, our mission of helping people get jobs has never felt more important. This Virtual Hiring Tour is designed to help people from all backgrounds - essential workers to licensed professionals - quickly find roles, in a way that is safe and effective,” said Chris Hyams, CEO of Indeed. “We are excited to partner with so many of our clients to get people across the country into these available jobs as soon as possible.”

The Virtual Hiring Tour consists of a series of virtual Indeed Hiring Events which use Indeed’s proprietary video interviewing technology to remove technical hurdles and speed up the interviewing timeline. By delegating the administrative tasks to Indeed, employers can focus on interviews, reducing the time to hire from an average of six weeks to a matter of days or even on-the-spot job offers. Job seekers need only a browser and an internet connection to interview for jobs, which range from essential frontline worker roles to specialized positions.

In addition, Indeed’s strategic partner Goodwill Industries International, the country’s leading workforce development provider, will help job seekers who want to participate be set up to succeed. Goodwill will work closely within its communities to ensure that job seekers are aware of and prepared for Indeed’s Virtual Hiring Tour with one-on-one coaching and virtual workshops. Job seekers include people in need of skills training, career counseling and other wraparound support services such as digital skills, as a result of being unemployed, underemployed or facing challenging life transitions. “Even before the pandemic, millions of people were stuck on the employment sidelines, struggling to find work. Today, they are even more anxious about their prospects, but we want to assure them that we are here to help,” said Hyams. “We are so grateful to our partner Goodwill for helping us reach job seekers who need extra support so they can take advantage of the opportunities available through the Virtual Hiring Tour.”

Job seekers can search “Indeed Hiring Events” on Indeed to find available positions and RSVP to attend or visit indeed.com/virtualhiringtour to get more information. Job seekers can also visit the Indeed Career Guide for free resources to prepare for virtual interviews. There are approximately 700 companies signed on to the tour so far, and employers with at least 20 available positions that are interested in joining the tour should reach out to their Indeed representative, or fill out this form.
