TrapX Security Names Cybersecurity Veteran as Board Advisor

Joseph Tso to provide company and product strategy counsel in newly created role

WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--TrapX Security, the global leader in deception-based cyber defense solutions, has appointed Joseph Tso, a more then 20-year veteran of the cybersecurity and information technology industries, as Special Advisor to the company’s board of directors. In this new role, Mr. Tso will provide advice and guidance on matters of company and product strategy, as well as trending issues of concern to his fellow CISOs in the global cybersecurity community.

Joseph currently serves as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for a major Canadian bank. He was previously the cybersecurity program manager for TransRe, the global reinsurance provider, where he created and managed the company’s cybersecurity program. Earlier career experience includes management and staff roles at hedge fund Structured Portfolio Management, Magellan Aerospace, and WW (formerly Weight Watchers).

Joseph is an active participant in the cybersecurity community, as well as a sought-after writer, speaker and subject matter expert. As a board member of the ISACA NY Metropolitan Chapter, he volunteers his time to create and host cybersecurity conferences for the NY community. He also serves as a board advisory member for the Cybersecurity Workforce Alliance/IQA and the Pace University Cyber Program, where he mentors students and assists in creating new cyber education programs.

Joseph holds a M.S. degree with Distinction in information security and assurance from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a B.S degree in computer forensics with Summa Cum Laude from Pace University. His industry certifications include (ISC)², Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and ISACA Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
