Cerebras Systems Accelerates Global Expansion with New Japan Office and Appointment of Hiromasa Ebi as Country Manager

AI Leader Strengthens Local Support for Regional Systems Integrators with Industry-Leading CS-1 System

TOKYO & LOS ALTOS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cerebras Systems, the pioneer in accelerating artificial intelligence (AI) compute, today announced its international expansion in Japan with the opening of Cerebras Systems G.K. In addition to announcing the opening of Cerebras Systems G.K., which is a wholly owned subsidiary located in Tokyo, Cerebras also announced the appointment of Hiromasa Ebi as Country Manager of Cerebras Systems G.K. Based in Tokyo, Ebi is an industry veteran and brings more than 30 years of experience in IT, with a focus on data management infrastructure.

Ebi comes to Cerebras Systems with a respected track record for establishing Japan entities for global companies from the ground up. He previously served as CEO of Cohesity Japan KK, a joint venture with Softbank, where he launched the company’s business operations in Japan. Prior to that, Ebi held various leadership positions at Japanese entities, including Vice President and General Manager of Scality Japan K.K.; Country Manager of Fusion-io K.K.; Vice President and General Manager of Isilon Systems K.K.; and Director of Alliance Partnerships, NetApp K.K.

In November 2019, Cerebras announced Cerebras CS-1, the industry’s fastest AI computer, which was recently selected as one of Fast Company’s Best World Changing Ideas and a winner of IEEE Spectrum’s Emerging Technology Awards.
