NEW ORLEANS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--On-demand mobile healthcare service Ready today announced it is working with Ochsner Health to help support patient health needs during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through this partnership, Ready is providing in-home visits and COVID-19 testing to improve access to medical care.
“We are working closely with Ochsner to deliver the best care possible to patients in need, and to quickly and efficiently test more people for COVID-19,” said Justin Dangel, CEO and co-founder of Ready. “We are committed to identifying and collaborating with the right organizations, like Ochsner, to keep patients who do not need to be hospitalized safe at home and make quality healthcare more accessible to more patients – effectively easing the burden on hospitals and health centers.”
Patients seeking COVID-19 testing in the greater New Orleans area who have transportation issues or other challenges receiving care in-person should call Ochsner’s COVID-19 hotline at 1-866-703-7790 to determine the best treatment plan. Patients referred into the program can receive testing at their home. Ready is also working with Ochsner to follow-up recently discharged patients who are either COVID-19 positive or suspected positive.
“Ready has been a willing and flexible partner to develop innovative solutions to supplement Ochsner’s COVID-19 response,” said Harry Reese, VP Post-Acute and Home Care at Ochsner Health. “Our results to date have shown a 70% reduction in non-emergency, emergency department visits through redirection to a more appropriate level of care and elimination of social barriers to adequate care – that’s essentially years’ worth of a cultural shift toward home care in the span of only three months.”
Ready is working under the guidance of the CDC, the World Health Organization (WHO) and local public health authorities to continue updating its protocols to prepare its Responder force and help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Ready is an on-demand health service that delivers care directly to its patients. It accomplishes this with a team of highly trained Responders that include paramedics, EMTs and nurses who visit the patient in the safety of their home or community. If necessary, the Responder connects the patient to a doctor or nurse practitioner using telehealth or other technologies to give them immediate, additional treatment. Ready’s multidisciplinary team addresses the physical, mental and social health needs of their patients. Accepting most all insurance types – including Medicare and Medicaid – Ready’s platform serves as a convenient, fast and affordable solution that reduces overall health costs and delivers more positive health outcomes.
