CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sherlock Biosciences today announced that it has been selected as a 2020 Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum. Launched last year, Sherlock Biosciences is using Engineering Biology tools, including CRISPR and Synthetic Biology, to create a new generation of molecular diagnostics that can rapidly deliver accurate and affordable results for a vast range of needs in any setting. In May 2020, the company received Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its Sherlock™ CRISPR SARS-CoV-2 kit for the detection of the virus that causes COVID-19, providing results in approximately one hour. The EUA marks the first authorization of a CRISPR product in history.
