MobileIron Achieves Zebra Technologies’ Validation for Mobile Device Security and Management

MobileIron Cloud validated at Zebra’s Global Enablement Center for securing and managing business apps and data on purpose-built mobile computers and tablets used by frontline workers

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MobileIron (NASDAQ:MOBL), the company that introduced the industry’s first mobile-centric, zero trust platform for the enterprise, today announced that it has completed Zebra Technologies’ Validated Program for MobileIron Cloud, the cloud services version of its unified endpoint management (UEM) platform. This designation indicates to customers and partners that MobileIron Cloud was successfully tested – confirming its performance and functionality with select Zebra® devices.

MobileIron Cloud is a comprehensive solution for organizations to manage and secure their fleet of frontline devices. MobileIron Cloud validates every device, establishes user context, checks app authorization, verifies the network, and detects and remediates threats before granting secure access to a device or user. It allows for continuous enforcement and protection of data, both on the device and on the network, resulting in a secure mobile work experience.

“This validation is another proof point that MobileIron helps organizations simplify their mobile device configuration, management and security, and empower their frontline workers with anytime, anywhere access to corporate data,” said Brian Foster, SVP of product management at MobileIron. “With support for Android™ zero-touch enrollment and firmware over-the-air updates, IT can get users up and running with the right apps, configurations and security settings and then effortlessly enforce critical new updates, resulting in increased frontline worker efficiency. IT can also easily track devices, protect them against mobile attacks, wipe apps and data, and ultimately retire them.”

MobileIron Cloud integrates with Zebra’s value-added services including Mx, OEMConfig and LifeGuard APIs, helping companies achieve comprehensive control over business data while enabling frontline workers to increase productivity. For example, by leveraging corporate-owned Zebra devices secured by MobileIron Cloud, frontline retail workers can securely complete payment transactions, warehouse workers can securely track mobile inventory and nurses can securely access patient files. Organizations can also build upon MobileIron Cloud with zero sign-on (ZSO) user and device authentication, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and mobile threat defense (MTD).

Zebra Technologies’ Validated Program is part of its PartnerConnect Independent Software Vendor (ISV) program. It enables eligible channel partners to test the interoperability of their software solutions with selected Zebra mobile computers, scanners, printers and RFID readers, to ensure it meets user application-specific needs and reduces both the risk and the deployment time for the user.

Working closely with Zebra engineering teams, MobileIron has successfully tested for the interoperability of MobileIron Go with select Zebra devices, including TC20, TC25, TC51, TC52, TC56, TC57, TC75X, MC3300 and MC9300.

About MobileIron
MobileIron is redefining enterprise security with the industry’s first mobile-centric, zero trust platform built on the foundation of unified endpoint management (UEM) to secure access and protect data across the perimeter-less enterprise. Zero trust assumes that bad actors are already in the network and secure access is determined by a “never trust, always verify” approach. MobileIron goes beyond identity management and gateway approaches by utilizing a more comprehensive set of attributes before granting access. A mobile-centric, zero trust approach validates the device, establishes user context, checks app authorization, verifies the network, and detects and remediates threats before granting secure access to a device or user.

The MobileIron security platform is built on the foundation of award-winning and industry-leading unified endpoint management (UEM) capabilities with additional zero trust-enabling technologies, including zero sign-on (ZSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), and mobile threat defense (MTD). Over 19,000 customers, including the world’s largest financial institutions, intelligence agencies and other highly regulated companies, have chosen MobileIron to enable a seamless and secure user experience by ensuring only authorized users, devices, apps, and services can access business resources.
